Short Telegram usernames: how much 4 and 5 letters cost

PriceUpdated: July 2026

Short names are the most valuable in Telegram: they're physically scarce and many people want them. Let's look at how much 4- and 5-letter usernames cost, why there are no 3-letter names on the market, and what the price of a specific short name depends on.

Why you can't buy 3 letters

The minimum username length on Fragment is 4 characters. Only five 3-letter names exist, and Telegram issued them itself: @ufc, @nft, @gif, @vid, @pic. They're assigned to official entities and aren't for sale. So the "shortest" on the market is 4 letters.

How much 4 letters cost

Four-letter names are the top segment of the market. There are few of them, so even "meaningless" combinations cost a lot, while catchy and meaningful ones go especially high. A guide is from several thousand to hundreds of thousands of dollars for the most desirable options.

How much 5 letters cost

Five-letter names are still "short" premium, but there are more of them, so on average they're cheaper than four. The spread is wide: an ordinary 5-letter combination might cost hundreds of dollars, while a meaningful word or brand of 5 letters runs into thousands and tens of thousands.

It's not only about length. Two 4-letter combinations can differ in price by tens of times. A meaningful, pronounceable name (@luna) is worth far more than an "unreadable" set (@xqkz), even at the same length.

And remember: even "real" prices of short names on Fragment are sometimes inflated — an owner can buy their own name at a high price through a second wallet. Rely on several deals, not one headline record.
